About Nileeka
Nileeka started her career with a varied background in Law, Advertising and PR. Alongside formal education, she professionally trained in dance at a number of well-known institutions such as Pineapple Performing Arts School and Sylvia Young Theatre School.
Nileeka later combined her love of dance with her passion for for Bollywood when she became Assistant Manager of Bollywood Grooves Dance Company at the age of 18, learning the ropes company owner Vandana Alimchandani who she highly regards as her first true inspiration.
When Bollywood Grooves closed its doors in 2009, Nileeka decided it was time for her own journey to begin. Her first major projects combined her PR skills with her knowledge in the cultural space. Having worked on the PR campaigns for films such as High School Musical & School of Rock, Nileeka was commissioned to work on the creative promotions for Bend It Like Beckham the Musical. Soon after, she found herself assisting on choreography for The Second Best Marigold Hotel.
The Bollywood Co. hit the ground running from launch day. Nileeka soon became the go-to Choreographer for clients looking for nothing less than the best.
Crossing over from East to West, The Bollywood Co’s client roster ranges from native Indian stars like Guru Randhawa & Sidhu Moosewala, right through to quintessential British brands such as Burberry & British Airways.
In 2018 Nileeka launched her sister company Noble Management to focus on representing Asian Culture within the mainstream. Nileeka has worked on creative projects for American Express, Urban Decay and TV shows like Dancing On Ice (ITV) and Flirty Dancing (Channel 4).
Global Superstar DJ Snake, Artists Fuse ODG, Naughty Boy and Rockstar Steven Wilson have commissioned Nileeka to work on their live tour visuals. She has also worked on arena shows for BBC Asian Network and Brit Asia TV.
Mother to Gigi, age 3, Nileeka keeps her downtime busy with mummy duties and passion projects. In 2019 she launched an initiative called wellBEING with the aim of helping Londoners understand the importance of wellness in their daily routine; the cornerstone of the enterprise being dance and fitness.
You can find Nileeka teaching every Tuesday at Pineapple Dance Studios (Covent Garden), and Thursday at Danceworks (Mayfair).
